What to Expect Upon Hire:
CARICATURES
In Advance (Optional for Hosts)
To make your event day smoother, I offer the option of drawing the host or main celebrants in advance from photos.
This helps avoid needing to find time to sit during a busy event. I will bring the completed drawing with me the day of the event.
If you'd like this option, please send:
3 clear photos of each person
Or links to social media profiles with good reference images
For a memorable keepsake, I can also print event details on each sheet of drawing paper, such as names, dates, locations, logos, or slogans.
Example:
Line 1: Celebrating Connor’s 40th
Line 2: Tampa, Florida
Line 3: 08/21/2023
Please send the exact wording and any logo files after booking.
Setup
I will arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time to set up.
My setup includes:
An easel
One chair for myself
Two chairs for guests
The setup requires approximately a 4x4 ft space (just a small corner).
If you have three chairs available you’d be willing to set aside for my use, it would be greatly appreciated! If not, no problem at all—I can bring my own.
I also bring a battery-operated clamp lamp, so no outlet or electricity is required, even in dim lighting.
Guest Experience
Each guest will receive their caricature in a clear plastic protective sleeve with an adhesive seal so their drawing stays safe throughout the event and on the way home.
Guests may also leave their drawing with me for safekeeping during the event and pick it up when they leave, allowing them to enjoy the party hands-free.
Drawing Time
Black & white caricatures take approximately 3–4 minutes per person.
Color caricatures take approximately 5–7 minutes per person.
For larger events (50+ guests), I generally recommend black and white drawings so the maximum number of guests can participate. Color can also be reserved for special guests such as the guest of honor, bride and groom, or a few selected participants if desired.
Of course, the choice is entirely yours.
FACE PAINTING
In Advance
I provide printed design menus for both children and adults to choose from.
Options include:
Full face designs
Half face designs
Cheek art
Arm or hand designs
Guests are always welcome to request unique ideas, and I’m happy to collaborate.
If your event has a specific theme, I can also create face paint designs to match.
Setup
I will arrive 30 minutes prior to the start time to set up.
My face painting setup requires approximately a 5x5 ft space, which allows room for:
A small folding table
Two chairs
I bring everything needed for the setup.
The table and surrounding floor area will be protected with plastic covering.
Guest Experience
Face painting is designed to be a fun, creative experience for guests of all ages. Guests can browse the design menu, choose their favorite, and enjoy a unique piece of wearable art during the event.
Glitter can be included with approval from the guest and/or parent before application.
Time Per Design
Most face paint designs take approximately 5–15 minutes, depending on the complexity of the design.
About Me
Hi, I’m Chelsea!
Growing up in Tampa, my family had passes to Busch Gardens. And like most childhood memories, only a handful remain especially vivid. For me, it’s the candy shop, the countless times I made my friends and family wait in line for roller coasters I ultimately chickened out on, and the caricature artists.
I was captivated as I watched standing behind them. The way they could capture the stranger sitting in front of them onto paper to quickly. It was nothing short of magic to me.
In 2010, I became one of them myself.
It was a full-circle, dream-come-true moment. I was hired just after high school while attending school for Graphic Design. What I thought at the time would be a fun part-time job ended up giving me a skill—and a passion—that remains an essential part of my freelance career today.
I'm grateful to feel that I love what I do. And like love goes, the joy it brings me hasn’t faded with time. I enjoy meeting and interacting with each new face that sits down and embracing the challenge that continually pushes me to grow as an artist.
